( well. cassie isn't expecting him to be so forthcoming as a volunteer to rescue her. she does tend to wind up in the damsel in distress position a great deal, doesn't she? but she has no intention of this journey or these lessons being dangerous, and she highly doubts they will be. still. it's sweet of him, and it reminds her of the fact that even when there are periods of time when they don't see or talk to each other much, they're still friends. )
